We had a magic time in Visalam ! We definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Chettinad area. This is a beautiful art deco house with a very nice garden and large pool. Food was excellent. Staff very kind and professional. What a pleasure ! The hotel propose activities such as 3h hours tour temple, walk in the village, cycling...all were very pleasant. We won't forget our stay. The place looks beautiful and ethereal. One of the best maintained heritage properties I have visited. The rooms are super spacious adorned with thoughtful interiors. We couldn't access the pool as it was under repair. They have multiple options for seat outs. We opted for their cycle tour, which goes through the colony of 200 year old palatial chettinad colony. Food within the property was average. Staff is good.

Great place, very well maintained and staff is very knowledgeable, unassuming and helpful to a fault. Their recommendations of food outside the resort were great. The pool with a depth of 7 feet is great for a good swim. The room was airy and ventilated. Mr. Siva's cycle tour is very good and gives one a good insight to the lay of the land. Highly recommend the morning cycle tour that takes one around to three villages with a variety of chettinad housing and public buildings.
